Email Client

A software application that handles electronic mail

An email client is a software application that is used for sending, receiving, editing and reading electronic mail (email). An email client is also called a Mail User Agent (MUA). Email clients are client-side applications, meaning that they run on and must be loaded on your local computer, unlike Web-based email programs, also called webmail, provided by companies such as Yahoo! or Google. Some common email clients are Eudora, Lotus Notes, Mulberry, and Outlook Express.

Email clients have security vulnerabilities that are detailed in the Secure My Cyberspace email pages.
