Palmtop

A palmtop is a miniature computer that fits in the palm of your hand. Palmtops are also called personal digital assistants (PDAs), handheld computers, and pocket computers. Many people like palmtops because they are lightweight, portable, and simple to use. They are not as sophisticated as desktop computers or laptops, but they are usually able to handle applications such as calendar and phonebook management. Most palmtops are also now able to provide spreadsheets, word processing, and some multimedia support.

Most palmtops use a light pen, called a stylus, instead of a keyboard. The stylus is used to write on the screen or to select keys or buttons on the screen. Palmtops can be connected to your desktop computer to transfer files.
