Search Engine

Search engines are programs that can quickly examine a large number of Web pages to find the ones most relevant to keywords or other search criteria that you provide. So, for example, you can type ”search engine” into a search engine and get back Web sites that tell you about search engines. You can then order the results by relevance, date, etc. Advanced searches allow you to do more complex things such as finding an exact phrase (e.g., “search engine” rather than “search” and “engine” at separate places on the page) or limiting the search to certain parts of the page (e.g., title or text).

The most popular search engines today are Google , Yahoo!  and MSN . All search engines are free and earn revenue mainly through advertisements on their Web page.
