Team Dating

An online service facilitating social interactions among groups

Team dating is a type of online dating system oriented towards groups, rather than single people. A group, or "team," has a shared profile page and can use the features that personal online dating sites normally provide, such as messaging and photo display.

One of the features that team dating claims to offer is safety. This is true in the sense that it is safer to go together with friends when meeting a completely unknown person. Nonetheless, it can be also very dangerous to meet a group of hostile people. The same issues that apply to personal online dating sites, such as faking and false displaying, apply to team dating sites.

Protective Measures

Practices

  • Don't go alone to meet a group. Take advantage of the fact that this is a team encounter service, and realize that meeting an unknown group for the first time by yourself can be very dangerous.
  • Beware of fake profiles. Be warned that many of the profiles in an online team dating Web site are fake.
  • Monitor your children's use of the Web. Don't let minors access dating sites under any circumstances.
