Web Site

A group of Web pages with related content and a home page as a main point of entry

A Web site is a hierarchically structured collection of Web pages. All Web sites together make up the World Wide Web, which is part of the Internet.

Normally, a Web site has a main page, also called a home page, that is the entry, or topmost, point into the hierarchical structure of the Web site, and allows you to navigate to the other main parts of the Web site. The Web pages that make up a Web site are normally related to the same topic. Web sites are connected between themselves by means of hyperlinks.

Computers called Web servers store and make available the files in which Web page information is stored. The software that makes web sites available is called Web server software.
